# Brook operations

Run Brook from the exported edition with Node 26.8.1 and pnpm 10.12.4.

`pnpm run setup` installs the frozen dependencies, provisions or reuses the
named D1, applies migrations, initializes the owner, builds and publishes the
Worker, then checks `/health`. Brook setup publishes by default. Use
`pnpm run setup -- --prepare-only` to prepare the remote database and owner
without uploading a Worker; this remains a remote operation.

`pnpm run deploy` repeats the complete setup and publish path. The deployment
audit rejects local-demo configuration, checks the emitted identity and
database, uploads runtime secrets through a temporary private file, and waits
for health. Optional Email Routing, Stripe and delivery-webhook values affect
only their selected integrations.

`pnpm run verify` runs local implementation and build checks. Passing those
checks does not establish provider delivery, live-money effects, or complete
first-release acceptance. See [ACCEPTANCE.md](ACCEPTANCE.md) for the open
obligations and evidence rule.

`GET /health` reports D1 reachability, owner initialization, and configured
mail/auth-mail/commerce states. A configured provider is not evidence that it
accepted or delivered an operation.

Run `node scripts/operations.mjs describe` to inspect the operation interface,
or `node scripts/operations.mjs check` to check inputs. The check validates local static inputs only and
does not contact Cloudflare or certify caches, artifacts, migrations, or hosted
health.
